The top condenser is usually installed at the top of a distillation or rectification column for condensing the mixed vapors at the top of the column.
Plate top condensers require less installation space and are lighter (up to 50% lighter) than tube top condensers, which are already used in large numbers abroad.
The low height and large cross-section of the condenser group make this condenser ideal for high flow rates. The free flow between the plates ensures a low pressure drop, which is especially important in vacuum applications.
